Photographer's Note
Well, the past week I've posted some photos demonstrating the water level flucuations that happen here on Lake Erie when the wind blows in different directions. You can check my gallery for a couple of them recently. Now this photo, we had a north/easterly wind blowing ( my house faces south) Thats my house up there the brown one with the windows. You can see I walked way out in my "Lake" , so the water from the Eastern end of lake erie all sloshed over the the western basin. Now funny thing is, today we are having a western gale out on our lake, the wind is howling out front at 30-35MPH the trees are leaning and the water....yep you see those stairs there (they got tipped over during the storm in December) well the water is way up there to the bottom of the stairs now. Amzing place this Lake!
57 miles across from North to South, 250Miles from East to West.
If you want to see what happens to my lake in a Storm thats wind just under a hurricane check this out)

Hi Donna,
Very effective series that show the dramatic water leve flucuations in shallow Lake Erie. Beautiful blue sky and fall colors to contrast with the muddy beach.

Comparing this with the storm photos on your website it is difficult to believe it is the same place. You have captured some lovely colours with plenty of sharp details. Well done

Hi Donna,
What a lovely house you have and those big windows must offer a fantastic view.
I looked at the December storm pictures - an impressive event.
So now you could climb down the stairs and walk out into the lake.
Lovely picture to get a feel of your place - great POV was offered here to you be the wind.

Hello Donna, This is a fitting testament as to how our environment is changing. Where I live I gave up on watering my lawn after we have recorded one of the dryest summers. You have a beautiful home. Best regards, Danilo

Hi Donna,
This photo is a good demonstration of what you explain in your note. It is impressive see the levels of fluctuation of the water in the lake, but I believe that is more suggestive to see the magnificent house on its shore in background, accompanied of nice trees and a splendid sky.
Perfect composition, and a very useful note.
Friendly regards,
Josep

Hi Donna!
Interesting effect the one that happens to "your lake" :-P.
It is a very interesting angle the one you have chosen, placing yourself on the place the water used to be, and adressing your direction to your house, that is useful to understand visually the point of view chosen.
Excellenr job!
Cheers, and thank you for your words about my last image!
Take care Donna!

Hello Donna.
Seems like an interesting place to live in. Must be an easy thing to clean up the bottom of this beach from stones when there's no water! Lovely autumn colours and a beautiful house. Interesting note. (The house is for sale as I understood in your (great) home page)
Your photos in the link in the note was awesome, a compete story of a storm!
I wish you and your family a happy new year.

Hi Donna
Quite dramatic result. I was not aware that this could be so pronounced.
Good time of year to show this also as the fall colors are in full force.
Have a good day
