Photographer's Note

I desired to get into landscape photography but there ain't much around here except for Mount Cntower, however we have number of creeks and rivers to take advantage of.

Wanted to follow some of the rules of landscape photography, found out how to get silky water, but needed a red leaf, no such thing in my creek, then I thought years ago I was taking photos of pollution but this darn river was pretty clean, noticed this lil kid drinking chocolate milk, started negotiating, first I offered 5 cents, then a dime, but the kid wouldn't bite, looked around, no parents insight, took the chocolate milk from the brat and tossed it into the water. After taking the photo I realized it was thrown too far so I just left it there, what a heck, one more piece of f... garbage won't make a difference anyway.

;-) stupid photo, stupid title, and a stupid note, what else did you expect.... just saying hi to my old friends who still hang around this place.

PS, just clicked on my profile and realized I am a member of Iranian group on TE, right on!!!! Now where do I apply for CIA membership???

Nice to 'see' an old familiar face here, and of course,
innovative work that immediately stands out in the sea of (have to say) mediocre but adequate tourist shots in
our 'small' community.
Love your note in the form of a short manifesto - it's so you!

Love your strong flow of green water - gives me hope
that it ain't all over yet!

i'm not an old friend of yours but i kinda 'heard' some promissing legends about you around here
a very pretty chocolate-scape you're showing us tonight (today?), good use of long exposure (never done that but they say it's how it looks like) and beautiful shades of green (one of my favorites, truth being said). dramatic story to top it up
... and hope you came to stay!

A very innovative idea. What you said, I do agree with you. A red leaf would a perfect match. Though the framing is not at it's best. Still, the greenish touch and the smooth motion gives painting like effect. Bravo....

And I give my vote to the "welcome back" as well. I shouldn't be surprised that you marked your return with such an offbeat photo. So I'm not.

Not your best work, surely, but you made something quite interesting out of very little material, and for that, praise shall be heaped on you. It might have more punch if you had tossed the kid into the water, instead of the chocolate milk, but I know you didn't have time to think through all the angles, what with the risk of nosy parents showing up.

That Iranian group thing is no big deal, it just means that if you fly into the US you'll be taken into custody.

TrekEarth second most awaited upload only after a new Beatles album. Peter finally raised from his grave a little faster than Lennnon and Harrison (although the photo finish reveals that if George didn't trip John up, we would be singing a brand new version of "All you need is love" on Trekearth... but who cares in the end...).

That photo is for me Peter, right? Staying on my path of my Beatles imaginary museum, it looks to me like the Apple logo on the old vinyls, remember?
I mean : not Apple like Mac, you ignorant nerds! Apple records like Macca and the band : the flashing green apple on a black background, does this ring a bell to your geek ears?

Anyway, I'll take as it comes, I love the dynamic of the colors. I find green and black is very energetic, tho a bit sicko and quite gothic in the end. But I know Peter wears platform boots and heavy piercing when he walks the dog, hence it doesn't shock me at all.

I also appreciate this attempt becasue I was two months ago in the same situation : trying a new experience with landscape photography (and even photographying a flower! Hell noooo...).
Hence I can understand Peter's feelings while he was claiming medieval poetry by this brook, a crown of meadow flowers around his head, and playing on his harp with celtic elves.
Fortunately some trash gave him a breath.

You've done good Peter, now you can step forward and focus on... studio stills.

By a matter of luck, as I had recently noticed you belonged to the Iranian group, I was wondering whether it was a sly move from you trying to buy petrol cheaper, or a smart move from Ahmadinejjad to get his hand on the radioactive stuff included in your portfolio... but in the end, I choked with laughter on my morning coffe.

Great that you took some time off that Iranian group to offer us this fotka:).
Well, I love it. First for the movement you caught, very different from the kind of glossy ones in landscapes, it's a statement here, both in the image and in the text. Luscious green, choice of diagonal, and human dumbness and carelesness. Still that "lil kid" wouldn't bite, there might be hope ? :) And no red leaf to be found, what a pity, you may have reached a 100 at least:). Maybe take some paint next time...

Peter, just skipped over to this site to see who was still around and I saw this! Excellent image, with a heart-warming holiday tale to boot! That kid shoulda taken the money while he could, I hope you taught him a lesson to not litter by forcing him to wade into the river to retrieve his carton. Kids these days need to learn manners.
