The sun setting over Barrie, Ontario's Kempenfelt Bay as seen from Minet's Point Park at about 6:45pm E.S.T.
I used Adobe Photoshop CS's Layer, Channel Mixer, Monocrome and shared the levels at 100% with red, blue and green to acheive this effect.

I like this simple shot and I like what you did with it in Photoshop. The birds seem like they are just hovering above the water and the sun is not over bearing. Good compo, and perspective.

Amazing post processing job, but for sure the original material was also suberb. Congratulations for getting the seagulls in the rigth place and very near, it had to be quite difficult.
