Photographer's Note

“Blackhead” is the name of this photograph which was taken in the community of Blackhead. This is one section of the east coast trails called Deadman’s Bay Path. If you look very closely you will see Signal Hill in the background. A Spanish captain, his beautiful wife and daughter lost their lives in a shipwreck many years ago. There is a wonderful song called “the Spanish captain” which tells of this tragic story.
It is rumored ship carried gold hand on a sunny day some say the glow of gold coins be seen near the surface of the water. The area where the ship went down is now called Spanish Gulch.
This is one of the many stories you will find as you walk over 200km of the East Coast trails.
This photograph was level adjusted, and saved for the web .
