Oludeniz Tour boats, a photo from Mugla, Aegean

Photographer's Note

Departing Ölüdeniz by tour boat for Butterfly Bay and St Nicholas Island. This beach becomes crowded at 9 am. Make sure you pick a boat to suit your tastes. Some are non stop floating parties for the 20 somethings, others are eco adventure tours, others are top end luxury, others are to visit historic sites with swimming stops and so on. I chose a boat that took in all the sites, allowed plenty of time for swim stops, included a meal and soft drinks, and was reasonably priced.

Hello Chris,
As a matter of principle I would avoid the "pirate ship". I suspect it to be a floating party boat for the "20 somethings", so it looks best from a distance. It makes the photo a bit amusing but almost hides the beautiful scenery. Including the bright sand it's a perfectly exposed photo.

Hi Chris,
Lovely view full of holiday feeling. I guess almost everybody misses a chance of a getaway these days. Bright sunlight, white sand and a lazy day.
I would certainly choose the boat with masts. There's a lot to see on those details. And one has to respect the skills that are needed on building one, even with modern tools.

I suppose that the masts are only for the decoration , but this kind of ship is a real bonus for the composition . Great colors and sharness . Splendid coastline.

It's good to know what sort of people your tour companions are likely to be, otherwise the trip could be just plain annoying. At least you have a choice here. That boat on the right looks amazing. The colour of the water is brilliant, and the goes well against the white beach and the green hills. Nicely composed photo.

curious this fake galleon, looks more like a skeleton of one. amazing the area with this intense blue sky, we have something like this only in the very dry and cold days.
