Photographer's Note

The Burj Al Arab or Tower of the Arabs is a luxury hotel located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. At 321 m (1,053 ft), it is the fourth tallest hotel in the world. It stands on an artificial island 280 m (920 ft) out from Jumeirah beach, and is connected to the mainland by a private curving bridge. It is an iconic structure whose shape mimics the sail of a ship. Often described as the world's only seven star hotel, this structure defines Dubai - over-the-top luxury emerging out of virtually nothing.

This is a structure I pass every day on my way to work and I often think of taking a photo here, but as with most things so close to home, one tends to take it for granted...yesterday though, I took a slight detour and managed to grab this image just after sunset...I think it looks good in black and white, others might disagree, but I just wanted to keep going with my experiment with BW. I loved the reflection of the hotel and the clouds on the shiny sand...
