Photographer's Note

The monument addresses the unique combination of Arab and Sharjah identity (if one ignores the graffiti) that has been gradually emerging in the Emirate, and indeed, will continue to evolve as time passes. Its form takes the shape of an obelisk that conveys the identity of a people and a place, expressing who and what they are. It was now time to return to the main highway leading eastward, initially to Al Dhaid, and continue our journey of discovery.
