Photographer's Note
The elevation rises the closer one comes to the monument, furnishing thereby a bit more detail. There is an elevated plaque at the base inscribed in Arabic and English constructed of dark, stepped granite. The overall message, however, is less in words than in the obelisk that rises up above them. I could not help but note the dangling lamp of the post to the right. Maintenance can be a problem even in the Emirates!
