Photographer's Note

This is a photo I made after our Rumkale trip in Halfeti last summer.
It was a very hot day we went visiting the castle which is an amazing historical place. We were impressed by the beauty of Rumkale - and really tired after the trip! (We took a boat in Eski Halfeti that brought us to Rumkale`s valley and then we walked for 2 hours through the ruins of the castle.)

As we were back in Eski Halfeti we decided to sit down in a traditional restaurant; we went to the restaurant called Siyah Gül ("Black Rose; Halfeti`s lost symbol) and drank cool drinks. The owner of the restaurant was alone there; there were no other visitors than us.... Which made us feel sad for this special restaurant; the decoration was so wonderful, and the view to the hills that surround the Euphrates was just great.
We sat under a framework on which a grape shrub covered the tables and gave a cool shadow to us.

What a pity to see such a place empty...
But maybe that`s why they call Halfeti "Southern East`s hidden paradise"...
