Photographer's Note

What a day this was. Up at 5a.m., a long drive then waiting for the balloons to be inflated - all the time hoping that the choice to go ballooning at dawn was a better choice than going at sunset. I must say that the colours were not spectacular in the extreme colour spectrum sense of the word. What we saw were light, pastel shades of colour as the morning sun touched lightly the rock formations first, then the valleys. It was a beauty of a subtle kind and it enveloped us as we floated above this marvellous land.
