Photographer's Note

I had taken this photo at Simena in Kekova region this september. Simena is a ancient site with several rock tombs from classical times and a very good medieval castle in which there lies possibly the smallest theater of the ancient world. It barely has 200 people capacity!!! The sea level here during tectonic movements has risen about two meters since ancient times, thus most of the ruins have sunk under the sea. Hence the place is called 'sunken city'...

You can only get to Simena through sea, there still is no road connection to the site... Of course that was the way the ancient Lycians travelled.
