Photographer's Note

Burgu and Mali went with me to the YeniCaimil (New Mosque) in Istanbul. Outside the mosque there was a lot of pigeons. I've never seem so many concentrated in a place like that! It was just when we climbed the mosque stairs and I noticed a stall selling food for pigeons just in front of its main entrance that I understood the reason why the pigeons liked to be there. Judging by the number of people I saw cueing in this little street stall the pigeons would never go hungry. I might be wrong though... Look at the way they go for the plastic bag on the man's hand to grab the seeds! They seemed voracious to me!

I had a little trouble in finding the good speed to get the pigeons moving, but the man's face sharp. The result is not so good, but it was the best I could get. I wanted to be near my subject, but I was afraid of being charged on my head by the pigeons so I preferred to stand at the top of the stairs. I guess a Lower POV would have been better, what do you think?
