Photographer's Note
My last night in Turkey after 3 months travelling around the country and working there for 12 months. The following day I flew to Munich in Germany. An impressive pedestrian bridge across a 6 lane highway from Istanbul to Ankara is depicted here, although it narrows to a 4 lane hwy some distance to the east. I tried tilting the horizon but it made everything in the fg look tilted plus it cut the top of the support pylon. So I reversed it. The bg bay is the Sea of Marmara. It ends in Izmit.

Hello Chris,
I suppose I have gone under this bridge, in case it was already here in 2012. It's nicely illuminated, and especially the orange light on the wires looks good against the black sky. You exposed the photo well.
Best regards,
Gert

Hello. Chris, you managed a good high point of view looking down and across to the bridge. The orange lines look great against the black sky.
You have the bonus of the reflected lights across the water of the bay.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hello Chris,
It can be difficult to level photographs when the f/g becomes obviously tilted. I hadn't actually noticed the horizon until I read your notes!
The purples and oranges, in the f/g, really draw attention to bridge supports and emphasise their triangular pattern. They show up well against the dark sky.
I like how the artificial lights appear like many stars, scattered around the scene.
Were you sad to leave Turkey?
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Chris, the style of architechture reminds me a lot the bridge of Genoa, collapsed 2 years ago, great tragedy. But this isn't for cars and just for pedestrian as i can read, very impressive and taken in a great hour full of lights and colors. Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano

Hi Chris
Very effective colourful night shot - the sky, beauty of the bridge, the features in the background and the restrained light stars are just right. Fine composition, exposure and sharpness. Well done

Bonjour Chris,
La longueur du pont donne de la profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails du pont pour les piétons. La lumière environnante a un effet spécial sur les couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Fabulous outcome on this night shot, Chris.
Orange and purple illumination gave a special texture with fine contrasting tones.
Also, the far side city-lights reflected over water.
My cong.s for this one.
Wish you a nice weekend,
Ike

Hello Chris
There is lot of photographic experience in this superb view of the 'celestial harp' finely lit by the starry lights of stage!
Outstanding!

Hi Chris,
You have an optimal angle to this cable-stayed bridge. It has a well designed illumination which makes the result beautiful. Maritime background is very nice too. Starry lights as a result of small aperture exposure look great.

Hi Chris,
beautiful night composition. Yes I know what you mean sometimes it is hard to find the right balance with the perspective.
It is very impressive to have a chance to travel there for three months. This is certainly a great way of learning about the world. Also working in a country allows you to see things from different perspective.
The latter is what I do a bit, I moved in my life several times, and indeed it allowed me to see a lot of off the beaten track places in five countries. Unfortunately it is not very compatible with family life and at the moment I lean towards staying in one place longer... I suppose it depends also on the job type. In mine I first thought that having international experience would help me but nowadays nobody cares anymore. And it also translates into financial losses etc
Great capture here with the well shaped lights.
Very well done,
M
