Photographer's Note
I saw this woman sitting at the side entrance to Sokollu Mehmet Pasha Mosque. She seemed to be selling packages of tissue paper. She is actually a beggar. Since begging is illegal in Turkey, beggars peddle small items of merchandise, asking their "customers" to pay however much their hearts are dictating. You fill find people giving to these beggars many times over what the merchandise is worth. Since there is a sale, authorities cannot arrest them for begging.

Hi Murat
While it's sad that people have to make a living by begging, I found your note interesting. It gives insight into everyday life. I like the partial desaturation effect, it helps concentrate the viewer's attention on the main subject while still giving an idea of her environment.

Hello Murat,
What could she get selling just the tissue paper? But in her colourful outfit, she doesn't look like a beggar. Interesting idea to partly desaturate the picture.
Best regards Malgo

Hello Murat,
This was a good opportunity for partial desaturating. Our focus is directed straight at the woman and she helps to underscore the depth created by the arches.
Regards,
Gert

Hello Murat,
This is a fine , sharp composition of a subject which makes me feel humble! How sad, that people have to be reliant for titbits off others!
I remember in Pakistan, how a woman was selling toilet paper outside the toilet complex, when it was available inside for free. We all paid more than was necessary ... does it make us feel good!!!
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hi Murat, surely they still use the writing in the WS because it reflects the sacred texts, I see no other solution. 3 beautiful photos as always, great idea to emphasize the woman by desaturating the rest of the composition, top quality! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

murat
nice view of these successive arches with the woman in colors ahead. marvelous details of art in the WS. I presume they use arabic letters because the tradition, as latin was used by christians.

Hello Murat.
Superb the good perspective obtained through the two arches, which are an incomparable setting, framing the seated lady, the motorcycle and the people.
Goode sharpness and lighting.
Very good work. I like it.
You have a good day. Very best regards.

Hello Murat,
I didn't know that begging is illegal in Turkey but I remember I never saw any beggars when I was there.
Begging is not prohibited in Belgium, but you must have a permit (or more than one depending on the kind of articles) if you want to sell something. Not that this system is better.
I like the view through the arches with everything in b& w except of the woman.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Murat
A good move to desaturate everything except for the woman for a great street photo.
Cheers

Hi Murat,
Very interesting presentation. The selective desaturation makes us to exclusively focus on the beggar, who is actually the only colorful element in the scene.
I suppose if the begging is not disturbing there is nothing terrible about it, I don't like when people are becoming too aggressive but they are usually rather sellers trying to get you into their shops etc.
Very well done,
M

Hello Murat, the desaturation of the buildings has proved very effective as the only colour is the woman selling her wares.
An excellent point of view.
Interesting and informative note.
Kind regards, Jean.
