This is the entrance to the courtyard of Sokollu Mehmet Pasha Mosque. The mosque was commissioned by the grand vizier Sokollu Mehmed Pasha (in office 1565–1579) and designed by the imperial architect Mimar Sinan. It was built between 1565 and 1569-70 and forms part of a large complex that includes a madrasa, a hospice and a caravansarai.

Three good photos, where the view through the entrance creates a certain excitement of the beauty that would be expected inside the compound. As far as I remember there is a mosque in Istanbul with the same name.
