We go back in time 2 days from our Edirne trip to finish off the snapshots I took around Sultanahmet. After leaving Hagia Sophia, we walk towards Sultanahmet Mosque (aka the Blue Mosque). This is one last look at where we have been, the Hagia Sophia Basilica turned mosque, turned museum, turned back to mosque again.

Hello Murat,
All photos are well taken with fine colours and light and show fine buildings. I have a preference mainly for WS #2 showing the hamam, mainly because it's less often seen than the famous mosques. It's also a nice photo because of the persons in the foreground, the street leading up to the fountain and the trees on the sides. It could have done with slightly less processing (note the halos around the trees and domes).

I liked the main post with the diagonals in FG and the big mosque ahead with the big minarets in evidence. it is sad when we find a monument we want to visit closed by restore, but this is a good signal.

Hello Murat,

I recently read that there are few cities that could outdo Istanbul for interest, colour and variety and you have helped prove that true!
This is an excellent viewpoint to create a fine sense of depth and perspective. You have offered different avenues that we can use to study the area and impressive buildings.

Your w/s add further interesting details but this is my favourite.

I always enjoy these local views of the large Mosques, its something I just don't get the chance to see here locally.
I also chose this one because I was here myself and had a wonderful time. looks very peaceful and quiet, very attractive
