Photographer's Note

Again a capture from my archive.
A capture I'd made almost 16 years ago in Sile at the Black Sea shores.
While walking along the endless fields of Sile I noticed this young mother educating her little daughter in photography.
Who knows, maybe she is allready a member of this site :-)

My father was a professor of physics in the Technical University of İstanbul and almost every weekend we made together long lasting walkings in different parts of İstanbul.
He with his expensive Leica, me with my Flexaret.
A cheap copy of the famous twinlense Rolleiflex.
Back to home it started a long lastig discussion who should enter the dark room first.

I still remember a topclass lecture of him : "To look at and to see are two quite different things; to be a good photographer, you should be trained -how to see".

Even after so many long years I think he was right.

Note to the moderator : Those people here are neither my relatives nor friends.
