Shades on the grating, a photo from Istanbul, Marmara

Photographer's Note

In the exterior of the Holy Sofia (Aya Sofya) Basilica in Istanbul there is a very interesting fountain, with a magnificent golden lattice grating, which seemed to me very attractive and very rich graphically.

The light and the shades on this grating were creating a nice effect that I tried to catch in this close-up.

I like the result, and I want to share it here with all of you. I hope you like also.

En el exterior de la Basílica de Santa Sofía (Aya Sofya) en Estambul hay una fuente muy interesante, con una magnífica reja dorada en celosía, que me pareció muy atractiva y muy rica gráficamente.

La luz y las sombras sobre esta reja creaban un agradable efecto que intenté captar en este encuadre cerrado.

Me gusta el resultado, y quiero compartirlo aquí con todos vosotros. Espero que os guste también.

Istambul è una città che ho visitato o attraversato in più occasioni ed è rimasta nel mio cuore per il fascino dell'oriente che essa sa offrire. Da allora di tempo ne è passato molto, ma questa tua foto mi ha fatto riaffacciare i ricordi di quei viaggi. Le luci e i colori dell'oriente sono fantastici e questo particolare di S. Sofia per me rappresenta un ritorno al passato, ai colori e alle atmosfere del medio oriente.
Un dettaglio interessante della Moschea, ormai ridotta a museo, ma non per questo privata del suo immenso fascino.
Interessanti le note che accompagnano la foto, sempre ben dettagliate e ricche di notizie.

Superb close up works with fine detail and strong solid quality.The warm light superbly contrasts with the intrciate gratings revealing the beautiful geometrical patterns. The tone is excellent, sharpness and textures are fabulous with subtle shades and shadows Lots of depth too. This is a piece of artisitic beauty very well managed. Simple but but remarkable, Congrats.

Maravillosa esta filigrana, toda una obra de arte en el oficio de los artesanos de rejas, sin duda es un trabajo muy laborioso y refinado, con un resultado final fantastico.
Tu buen hacer en cuanto a nitidez, luminosidad y colorido, hace que todo ello resalte aun mas, me gusta mucho el efecto de las sombras y luces, que da mucha mas fuerza a la composicion.
De nuevo un bonito trabajo amigo mio, variando sobre temas y lugares.
Me ha hecho muy feliz ver a Pili y su bonita galeria en NFL, tal es asi que me he animado, he puesto mi pagina al dia y tambien he comenzado a subir, ahora al menos tengo una amiga alli, y me hace ilusion seguir sus trabajos.

The shade & light accentuates the wonderful pattern on the metal fence with fine deatiled patetrns. Its a pity that this picture did not get the attention it deserves. What I like is the that the dark portions at the top only helps accentuates the patterns & designs. Lovely work!

Lo que no se ve crea intrigas y lo que se ve ...... muestra un trabajo de atesania que es espectacular.

Hola Josep, estoy muy impressionada con ésta foto no solo porqué conozco dónde está la fuente pero me gusta mucho como la has sacado jugando con la luz y sombra y dejando aparecer toda la belleza de la reja dorada..
