Just Light..., a photo from Istanbul, Marmara

Photographer's Note

This was a prism of sorts by Heinz Mack in a relatively dark room. Sakıp Sabancı Museum’s website says the following about the artist’s works:

“Regarding light as an infinite source of life and pursuing it with unshaken determination has been both a personal approach and an influential artistic strategy for the pioneering artist of German modernism, Heinz Mack. After spending the years of his youth amidst the cold desolation left by the Second World War in Germany, Mack shaped his art around light, which throughout history and geographies has been the harbinger of a new day and opportunities yet unexplored. Like an avid explorer, Mack has tirelessly sought light and all the colours it reflects, through works covering a broad spectrum that encompasses paintings, sculptures, installations and reliefs.“

Bu nispeten karanlık bir odada Heinz Mack tarafından bir tür prizma idi. Sakıp Sabancı Müzesi'nin web sitesi sanatçının eserleri hakkında şunları söylüyor:

All colors of the range of a rainbow participating in this, Murat.
I like the contrast with the black BG, the art element probably playing with light directed upon. Only assuming that, as I try to understand what I saw here.

I like how you captured one of the many fascinating effects of the light, displayed through the artwork. You captured the abstract forms, the colours and the contrast with the dark space very effectively. I also like the slight tilt of the square prism which seems to be moving slowly so the colours are about to shift too. Congratulations and thank you!
