Photographer's Note

Zorlu Center is Istanbul's new center of attraction presenting Turkey's first five functions "mixed use" project. The complex consists of a premium luxury hotel brand "Raffles Istanbul Zorlu Center", a shopping center, an A-class premium office space, and a Performing Arts Center.

We were at Zorlu Performing Arts Center to listen to Istanbul Symphony under the direction of Gürer Aykal tonight. The concert opened with a one-minute silence for Berkin Elvan who died today after a long battle for life as a result of police brutality during the Gezi incidents of last June. The orchestra accompanied Domenico Nordio for Beethoven's Violin Concerto. After intermission, they played Fazıl Say's Istanbul Symphony, Op. 28.

This was taken while we were waiting for the doors to open. The three-storey tall screen was advertising the upcoming events when I captured the ad for Jose Carreras' performance on March 29.
