Trojan Horse, a photo from Canakkale, Marmara

Photographer's Note

I've previously uploaded a sunset and a blue hour shot from this waterfront location at Canakkale. But had neglected to post the third in the series. It is much more imposing and elegant than the one at Truva (Troy) 40 km south of the city. It also featured in the 2004 movie Troy, which flopped at the box office but put this area on the tourist map.

Hello Chris, I was in Canakkale but I do not remember this Trojan Horse. I doubt if anyone could hide there inside, but it looks fantastic, especially with the blue sky as a background. I was rather disappointed in Troy.

Hello Chris,
It's a suitable monument for this town, but I am quite sure it wasn't here in 1974 when I visited Çanakkale on my way to Truva. I doubt that the original Troyan horse was as elaborately carved and decorated. The man in front of the hind leg looks like he is posing, but probably not for you. Colours and light are really good.

Hello Chris, a sharp shot of this very interesting ‘horse’.
You managed a good angle, and the sunlight illuminates the materials and features.

Great photo of this Trojan Horse, it looks beautiful and its details are very clearly seen, especially in this fine, warm sunlight and in front of the blue sky. Is that Odysseus himself who is standing so proudly next to his creation?
