Temple of Egyptian Gods from Turkey, a photo from Canakkale, Marmara

Photographer's Note

Modern Bergama or ancient Pergamon withholds many architectural treasures from the time immediately following the Anno Domini (AD), or the New Era. Built in the 2nd century AD, this temple is supposed to have been built for the worshiping of Egyptian gods Serapis, Isis and Harpocrates. The last is a rather strange name for an Egyptian god, isn't it? To me it sounds rather Greek, meaning something like "master of happiness". Later the temple was converted to a Byzantine church.

These days locals call the place Kizil Avlu -"The Red Hall".

Good morning Anton,
a really interesting place of the ancient Pergamon with the Gods of the ancient Egyptian to have been worshipped there.The third name perhaps to be Hippocrates instant of Harpocrates as you right in your note. Serapis or Σάραπις,Sarapis in Greek) was a syncretic Hellenistic-Egyptian god in Antiquity.

Очень интересный объект съемки! Ну а качество ее реализации,в свою очередь,превосходное,не вызывающее нареканий!
Отличная композиция. Удачно выбран момент съемки. Нет листвы на деревьях,и это позволяет детально рассмотреть Къызыл Авлу во всем ее величии!
