Photographer's Note

I am finally back from my trip to Turkey, with a two day delay in NYC on the way back. This time, I mostly visited with Sister, spending time on her balcony watching the ships go by on the Bosphorus. We did take an excursion to Eskişehir because we had heard how much the current mayor worked to improve the town and we both wanted to see it. Since I have many photos from Istanbul in my portfolio, I decided to start with photos from our Eskişehir Excursion - EE.

This is a photo from the rest stop where we had lunch. It was new to me, because this otoyol (freeway, or autobahn) did not exist when I lived in Turkey. The rest stop is close to Gemlik, south of the new suspension bridge across the bay of Izmit. The title of the photo is from one of the ads in the frame - Zeytini Çoook Seviyoruz (We Love Olive Veeery Much). Gemlik is known for its olive groves, the ad must have something to do with that.
