Akdamar Island (Istanbul Turkish: Akdamar adasi) is an island in Lake Van, a prominent Armenian poet (Hovhannes Tumanyan). He has written a poem about the island and a film based on the story of this system has been made in Armenia. Holy Cross Church, 41 km southwest of Van, on Akhtamar Island.
The church was built by Armenian architect Manuel and commissioned by Gagik I Vaspurakan, king of Vaspurakan, between 915 and 921 AD. Wikipedia

Hello Ali,
We get closer to the island and now the famous church is seen behind the nearest hill. I can see that it has been renovated in recent years. I like the panoramic shape of the photo and the fine softness of the light and colours.

Hi Ali,
It is nice to see some views from this interesting area which I suppose Turks took from Armenians. The cone of the Armenian church is well visible between the rough hills.
The colors were washed out almost completely almost black and white effect.
Looking forward to see more from this trip,
