Photographer's Note

To give you some idea of what the collapsed tower of the Ani Cathedral once looked like, here is a similar styled building, albeit on a much smaller scale, in the town of Bekler, 15 km or so to the north of Ani. It's the Kizilvenk Church (Kilisesi), also dating from the 10th century AD. The elevation is around 1,340 meters (4,400 ft) so the sky is an intense blue. This area also has harsh winters with snow lasting until late May. Above the heads of the 2 veiled woman is a sign in both Turkish and English giving details of Kizilvenk Church. I might load a workshop later as there is little info on internet. This is a first upload on Trekearth as well.

It was closed at the time of my visit, but here is a short video which eventually shows the interior after wasting some time on a poorly backlit view.
