Photographer's Note

Cappadocia is a place with many faces. It's very popular with it's geological formations, fairy chimneys and churches dug in sandstone, but one must not forget that before WWI it was populated mainly with Greeks. After the population exchange in 1922, many villages were abandoned. Decades later there were new incomers and some villages started to live again, but the remnants of old houses could still be seen. I was impressed by this dramatic view enhanced by a stormy weather, running sun beams, and dark clouds.
