Photographer's Note

A natural rock profile resembling a face at Midas City in the Phrygian Valley near Yazilikaya. The nearest large towns are Eskisehir to the north and Afyon to the south. It's possible to reach this archaeological site by bus and taxi from Eskisehir. The ruins date from the 6th century bc. This outcrop sits atop the Acropolis, honeycombed with man made caves. The green and black encrustations on the rock are lichens.
