Photographer's Note

Selimiye is situated 45 kilometers ( 28 miles) from Marmaris via the Hisarönü road, and is one of the most beautiful coves of Hisarönü Bay. It is an important village in terms of landscape and ancient ruins. When almond-trees are in blossom, the view is truly a sight for sore eyes. The full moon that rises over the western side of the bay is the most stunning in the vicinity. The undulating road leading to Bozburun offers lovely panoramic views of the bay. Selimiye boasts perhaps the freshest and most delicious fish. There are a few hotels, motels, pensions, and restaurants in Selimiye. Its shoreline has beaches in some places, and is rocky in others. Everyone may swim anywhere may swim anywhere , anytime they like. Selimiye is a fishing-village that nature-loving tourists who come to Marmaris quietly discover on their own; and has lovely scenery, a modest lifestyle, and amicable people. The population of the village is around 1100.
