Photographer's Note
A rarely posted side view of the Celsus Library in Ephesus, south western Turkey. Taken from the antique amphitheatre. The full name of the Roman politician it was named after is Tiberius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus. Selçuk is the better base than Kusadasi imho, which is usually packed with large cruise ships and thousands of passengers.

Hello Chris,
The vertical composition was an excellent choice because of all the ancient pillars seen in this photo. It offers a great view of the ruins of the library on a nice and sunny day. Well done.

Bonjour Chris,
L'étendue de l'endroit donne de la profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des ruines de la bibliothèque de Celsus. La lumièdonne un bon rendu aux couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

Hello Chris,
You found a very good place for taking this photo. There are fine diagonals, a nice view of the green hillside and an impressive ruin of a white building at the foot of the hill. A handful of tourists provide some life.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Chris, the Ephesus library is the most attractive monument in Ephesus, still well preserved after a lot of hundreds and earthquakes and the most photographated corner of this site, i remember well this perspective, a great capture very sharp as usual! Have a nice evening and thanks,Luciano

Hi Chris
A good and unusual view of the library. Great detail although your polarizing filter has created a few unfortunately blue shade patches.
cheers

Hello Chris,
One can only imagine how this place looked back in ancient times, the many pillars remeined intact may indicate a large Forum area in this spot.
Good view from a high POV.
My best regards,
Ike

Hello Chris,
You found a very suitable point of view to bring different parts of Ephesus together in one picture.
The visitors accurately reflect the scale.
Beautiful with the cypresses, palm trees and other trees in between.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Chris,
You have chosen an excellent viewpoint to help us begin our tour of the library. The path leads us diagonally along the colonnade, where we can get a sense of how wonderful, how magnificent, this building was in its heyday!
The few tourists both animate and scale the scene.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Chris.
Excellent vertical composition, which gives us a good view of the remains of this colonnaded street, while behind it we see the remains of another building with arches and above it stands the upper part of the wonderful Celsus bookstore.
A beautiful photo, with great colors, splendid light and excellent sharpness with fine details.
Very well done, I like it
All the best for you. Have a great day.

Hi Chris,
Even though this place is still on the list of places to visit, I would be able to recognize the famous ruins already. You are right though: for the first time I see it from this angle. Of course the main structure become more distant but you have also included the context of so many columns. It certainly tells us more about the scale of this place as well as the setting with the vegetation behind.
Excellent capture,
M

Hi Chris
I really made a mistake of ONLY visiting Istanbul during my time in Turkey...we had already booked time in Greece as well, so there was only so much time. This would certainly be on my to-see-list. what a great shot, great angle
cheers
Craig
