Photographer's Note

this place gets crowded with locals strolling along and enjoying their beautiful city. Like most of the area near the shore, this part of the city is very picturesque and gives the impression that people here are relaxed and happy.

The clock tower is a good landmark to use if you need a place to meet up. The entrance to the bazaar is right there, as well as access to the promenade and the trains and busses.

this is konak and the clock tower .built in 1901 I did not feel the need to add a frame.

I would normally prefer such a strong piece of architecture to be composed off-centre but here the palm trees each side make the central placement work very well, providing symmetry in the image. I like the pinkish glow remaining in the sky. It could possibly do with a bit more sharpness, which the use of a tripod would have provided. However it is a pleasant well-exposed image.
