Photographer's Note
When I heard that ISIS arrived in Palmyra, I felt bad, I hope that the city remains as I've seen it

Hello Andrea, I have just heard about it. They are barbarians, I am very very sad. Let's hope that Palmyra survives. Beautiful photo in the time when all groups left and the only photographer can enjoy atmosphere of these ancient ruins.
Thanks for posting this photo.

With the pictures of Nepalese architecture before the earthquake, and now Palmyra before isis TE is becoming like a shrine for beauty lost. Perhaps lost, I should say, because there is still hope, always.
Great picture, wonderful shadows. The camel ride is perfectly placed.
have a fine weekend

I just uploaded a photo from Palmyra for the same reason... Keep our fingers crossed...
Lovely shadows, mine wasn't taken in such a good part of the day...

Ciao Andrea,
You have shown us the beauty of this ancient site!
I love how you have used the shadows as a feature, drawing attention and drama to the camel and its rider.
Let's hope that this important, historical site is left as shown here and not decimated by thoughtless vandalism.
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
