Photographer's Note
I do not know who had a greater fun - me doing photos of the friendly soldiers or they. Photo was made in the beautiful Krak de Chevalier Castle - I will show it later.

Hello Malgorzata,
Looks like the old ties coming back. A wonderful group portrait with five different and sponaneous expressions and attitudes. A good idea to bring in sepia.

Hello Malgorzata,
Sepia suits their first world war-style uniforms well. I remember Syrians as generally nice people, so I guess that must include soldiers too. Maybe some Lebanese or Israelis will not like the title of this photo though.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Malgorzata
Great capture of these soldiers. Good b&w, nice comp and sharp. The guy on the far left really makes the image. I really like the range of emotion and the tight comp bringing us into the scene. Well done.

Hi Malgorzata,
This is the forth picture that I am commenting on now, all being B&W or sepia. And all them with a strong atmosphere of times gone by. This could indeed be a picture from about one hundred years ago, with these ill fitting uniforms. But they look indeed friendly and very happy too. A very good capture!
Kind regards
Gunnar

Simpatiche espressioni.

Hello Malgorzata, As others have said, the sepia really makes this very attractive. The soldiers appear very pleased at your taking their picture. You have a good unrehearsed composition here. Excellent group picture. Regards, Roger

Witaj Małgosiu,
A niech to, obrazek jak z wojaka Szwejka albo ze znanej powieści Sienkiewicza. Ależ te chopy Cię czarują... Świetna fotografia, a byłbym ją zaniedbał. Nie wiem jak to się stało. Ładna sepia, bardzo naturalne twarze i wszystkie oczy w intensywnym kontakcie z Tobą. bardzo oryginalny portret "rodzinny".
Pozdrawiam,
Jurek

Hi Malgorzata,
These soldiers seem to come from another era, and this perception is amplified by your choice of sepia conversion, which is clever.
Your choice of title appears awkward at first sight, as I was wondering which army can possibly be friendly, but these men are indeed looking not too menacing, almost caricatural.
Cheers!
André
