Photographer's Note
Aleppo citadel is a huge military construction in the centre of the city, dating back to Medieval times when it became a fortress, though the earliest remains of any construction come from the 10th centrury B.C. It's impressively situated on a 50 m high mould that makes it possible to spot the construction from far away. It was recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986
For the locals the loan outside the moat surrounding the citadel is a popular picnic site. In the evening the whole families come here and eat and drink and talk, or just sit on the wall around it and enjoy the warm night, enjoy each other's company...Syrians are such warm and helpful people, they're probably what travellers miss more when they leave the country...I do:-)

Hi Aleksandra, amazin view, with the citadel on the top with a beautiful yellow light and all the rest in the strong dark.
excellent POV and focus.
the only thing that should be changed in my opinion are the 2 guys sitted on the walls. they are too much dark.
but is a good shot in any case.
thanks, ciao

Pozdrawiam
M.

Nice night shot, Alex! I like the compo very much, not concentrating solely on the fort but also on the photographed people on the right! This way it gives a good perspective and depth to the picture.
TFS this picture and a good note!

Dzien Dobry Aleksandra,
I first looked into this one for the good lighting and clarity of these nice ancient city walls, but at first glance I was thinking the empty dark area was too big. Then I noticed the persons sitting in the foreground and I like the contemplative dimension they add to your photo, even considering they look in the other direction !
Have a nice week end,
Jean-Yves

Pozdrawiam Artur

Aleksandra,
Wonderful POV & very Warm light!...
The blur on the guys sitting on the walls give a kind of Timeless effect to the monument & is certainly fantastic.
Cheers,
Prem.
