Photographer's Note

Coming back to Syria photos - here's one taken in the Christian quater of Aleppo. There's a lot of history to look at there, many of the buildings are medieval houses, most of them in a sorry state but that is part of the charm of the place. People look a little different here too- more of them dressed in European style, not in jelabiyas like around the Umayyad Mosque. There's a large Christian community in Aleppo, after all Syria is part of the Holy Land where Christianity was born, and it's comforting to see that at least in this part of the world Christians and Muslims co-exist in harmony...

PP-a little saturation and sharpenning, I cut the upper part- there was some disturbing "burnt" light (which ,by the way, I noticed and classified as disturbing thanks to the comments to some of my previous photos- it's one of the lessons I've learnt since joining TE- thank you for that and I'm still hoping for new criticism and tuition)
