Photographer's Note

Masjid-Ul-Haram is the greatest and the holiest place of worship of muslims in the world. In the center of it, a cubic stone building (6x6x6 metre ) called Ka'bah is situated which was built by Prophet Abraham and his son about 3000 years ago. All the muslims in any place on the earth, face toward Ka'bah for their daily ritual prayers. Masjid-Ul-Haram was first built around Ka'bah about 1400 years ago but it has been extended enormously in last 40 years. Currently its area is about 360000 sq metres and can accomodate 330000 people. The building has 95 gates out of which 5 are the main ones.
The picture shows a veiw of Fahad gate. The towers, or minaret, beside the gate are 92 metrs high. In the lower right corner of the picture, a pilgrim wearing Ihram cloth is shown which consists simply of two unsewn white cloth.
