Clock Tower in Doha, Qatar

On the way back from vacation we had a stop-over at Doha for one night. From the hotel I could see the night of Doha ... what a light, what a great silhuette of a city. I took my photo equipement and stroll through the night of Doha - it was a great tour and I was back in the morning at 3a.m.

(remark: I forgot to change the time on my camera, so the "Date Taken" was 2007-11-02 00:34)

Hallo Achim,
das lässt sich ja quasi nur zentriert aufnehmen, oder es wird willkürlich am Kreis abgeschnitten. Sehr schönes Nachtlicht, gut ausgeleuchtet und schön scharf. Die Umgebung des Turms hebt ihn gut heraus, die Aufnahme betont das passend.

Hi Achim,
Excellent light detail and color. In the thumbnail, I thought the clock looked too centrered but upon opening the photo, the symmetry of the arches explained the central location. I think it also works as an asymetrical compo - See WS

ambiance de nuit bien capturée et restituée.
Peut-être as-tu pris quelques risques à travailler à iso 1600, alors que 800 aurait pu convenir avec un temp de pose un peu plus long mais cela ne génait pas.
Superbes couleurs et netteté.

Hallo Achim,
the graphical effect of this clock tower and its artificial lighting, in contrast to the porches that surround it, is very strong and with a great attractive at sight.
I like the light and the colors in this nocturnal photo, and is amazing that with the ISO 1600 noise is inappreciable.
The quality of image is very high, in an excellent work.

It's of an exceptional clarity in shaded areas for 1600 ISO!!
Did you applied noise filtration in post processiong or is it due to the quality of in-camera software?
This tower appears majestic, surrounded by these semi-circular shapes of galery roof.
Perfect control of highlights and mid-tones

Good night shot, has created an interesting atmosphere, although the tower is centered I like the composition, the lights create oranges tones very warm, and has done a perfect control of the exposure. Good quality in this image and great architectural details. TFS

Today I decided to have a quick trip across the globe and thanks to your photos I landed in Qatar...This night shot is really good, the clock tower so well lightened, well placed in the photo...Quality is also good despite such difficult conditions.
