DORMITION CHURCH, a photo from West Bank, East

Photographer's Note

This is the crypt of Dormition Church, a modern church ruled by German priests. The building was done in the place where some religious people says Mary entered in her spiritual life. Tradition says her tomb was found empty like occurred with her son. There is another theory saying Mary died in Turkey. You can see a sculpture imitating her asleep. Like many of religious places in Jerusalem, this is a matter of faith.

Esta é uma vista da cripta da Igreja da Dormição. Segundo a tradição Maria caiu em uma espécie de sono de morte, foi sepultada e seu corpo desapareceu do sepulcro, tal qual ocorreu com seu filho. Outra teoria diz que ela faleceu numa cidade turca.
Vemos aqui uma vista do salão com uma escultura imitando Maria morta. Tal qual em tantos outros locais de Jerusalém, nada é certo e esses são assuntos de fé.

Vous avez raison, c'est une question de foi quant à la présence de personnages bibliques.
Il n'en demeure pas moins qu'il est très intéressant de découvrir l'intérieur de cet édifice.

Intriguing interior overwhelmed by columns, arches and visitors aptly processed to bring out all those details, depth and colours. Nice overall view under a challenging brightness, but on the negative point as can be seen, there're hot spots nearly at a point of being burnt out. An excellent snap and great attempt nevertheless. We went to Israel with an organized tour and for some reason, they skipped Dormition Church. Nice photo from inside this church.
