Photographer's Note
A very hot day of 45c in the deserts of Wadi Rum, southern Jordan. Parts of the epic 1960's movie 'Lawrence of Arabia' were filmed here. Taken while waiting for sunset.

Hello Chris,
This looks like a beach during low tide, when the water has withdrawn and left the ripples. The green tufts add some life to the environment of rocks and sand of various brown tones. The light was getting less painful in the late afternoon and the setting sun created nice long shadows.
Regards,
Gert

Hello Chris,
Not the well known orange tones but still a very beautiful capture of the landscape in Wadi Rum.
The rocks seem to have a kind of terrace structure.
Wonderful with the many ripples in the sand and here and there a plant that seems to need little water.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Chris,
Time just before sunset is really picturesque on landscape like this. Long shadows add welcome contrast. And wave patterns on sand look just great!

Hi Chris
Waiting for sunset or for the temperature to drop a bit?
There is already a good bit of colour in the sand which should signal good sunset colours.
cheers

Hello Chris, Amazing that in the desert there is still some life, lovely grasses. Interesting ripples in the sand caused by the wind. It looks as if there was water there sometimes.Nice long shadows in the late hours of the day.
best regards Malgo

Hello hris,
I could imagine Lawrence of Arabia riding through here. I'm afraid 45c would not allow me to follow him!!!
To say there are few imposing focal points, this is an excellent composition. with a natural, diagonal guide across the frame.
The low sunlight has worked wonders on the sandy surfaces, making ripples like the skin of a reptile!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Chris, the diagonal lines of the long shadows work as leading lines to take our eyes across the scene.
The low sun highlights the rippled sand, which maybe would not be as noticeable if the sun had been immediately overhead.
It is a wonder that anything can grow in that heat.
Thanks for sharing, kind regards, Jean.

Hi Chris
Linda foto e composição com esta luz lateral realçando os tufos de capim, as sombras alongadas e as ondas na areia. Gostei dos diferentes tons deste deserto e suas texturas.
Parabéns e abraço

Hi Chris,
A fabulous desert photo taken at just the right time when the low sun picks out the details of the landscape. The patterns in the sand are fantastic, but also the shapes in the cliffs behind and the long shadows cast by the clumps of grass.

Hello Chris.
The Wadi Rum desert has a lot of charm with the color of its sands and rocks and the formations of these, here also the elongated shadows produce a beautiful effect with the afternoon lights,
Good perspective of the image, very pleasing to the eye.
Have a good start to the week.
Warm greetings.
Luis.
