Photographer's Note

The Blue Chapel is so named for the imported Egyptian blue granite it is made from. This 6th century church was destroyed in an 8th century earthquake. The columns have been reconstructed along with the distinctive Nabataean flourishes at the top. It's a 10 minute walk from the Petra Treasury & well worth including on the itinerary.
