Photographer's Note

The old Roman Theatre of Amman, which was formerly known as 'Philadelphia' until the 7th century AD. The town must have had around 60,000 people because under Roman law, a theatre had to be built for 10% of the population. This one seated 6,000 & was completed in 161 AD / CE.
