Photographer's Note
I will post a mini-series of pictures from a visit to a winter-pond marsh / a swamp within the Herzliya Park, a natural reserve not far from the town quarters.
Heard some frogs, saw some birds and ducks, but only managed few reflections pictures.
As for this photo, Eucalyptus trees rise from within the water with the backlight through made a marvelous reflection.
Pictures were taken from a dry trail alongside, as Paul placed a question about this.
The trees are at approx. location of 32.1738, 34.8263 on the map.
Converted from RAW, F4.5, 1/60, ISO100.

Hi Ike
Apparently Australian eucalyptus trees are very good at sucking up excess water from swamps and marshes. Good sharpness and nice reflections. Tfs!

Hello Ike,
This was taken the same day as my latest photo, but it's so very different. Where is the snow and ice? It looks more like a tropical jungle to me. A fascinating environment and hard to believe that it's not far from the city, You handled the shady areas, glimpses of light and the fine reflections well.
Best regards,
Gert

Hi Ike,beautiful natural scenery frm Herzilya Park, great capture of eucalyptus trees living in the water of pond,i can see a great difference comparing the burned trees of same species seen on Ian gallery recently. An excellent capture,it's always difficult to find a good exposure in compositions like that, well done! Have a nice week and thanks,Luciano

Hi Ike,
The reflections on the water are assets to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the eucalyptus trees. The light has a good effect on the colors. Have a nice day.

Hello Ike,
An extraordinary landscape that if I understand correctly can only be seen in this way in wintertime.
I wonder how 'dry' it looks in the summer and what the surface is like in the warmer months. Does it look more like an ordinary forest?
Do you visit it in winter with a boat whether this is a photo taken from a hiking trail?
Very nice contrast between the light coloured tree trunks and the darker spots.
Nice reflections in the dark water.
The visit seems quite adventurous.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Ike,
Your photograph really evokes the mood of travelling through a swampy area. The dappled light, the reflections, the tall stems shading much of the light. I can almost hear the croaking that you describe in your notes!
My warm regards,
Bev :-)
WE have frogs in a small pond in our garden, we usually hear them beginning to croak in late February. I hope they have survived the thick ice that formed over the last few days!!!

Hello Ike, I would never have expected to see a scene like this from Israel.
I could almost imagine that this was taken from a boat, we feel so immersed in the landscape, with no sign of dry land.
There is some lovely backlighting, and some good reflections.
Kind regards, Jean.

Hi Ike,
This is habitat I didn't expect to be found in Israel. I can imagine how it is full of life depending on water. Light tones tree trunks give good contrast.

Hi Ike,
I rather thought of Israel being a dry land and I didn't expect it to have swamps. Great reportage. Very challenging to get right exposure in such a low light situation.
The reflection certainly doubles the interest here.
Very well seen and captured,

Hi Ike.
The eucalyptus is a tree that I like very much, but it cannot be put everywhere because its roots are very extensive, here all these groupings of its clear trunks are ideal, as well as its reflections in the water, dense shade due to its many branches.
Optimal management of lighting and sharpness, with a good perspective.
Well done. I like it.
Have a nice day.
Very best regards.
Luis.

Hello Ike,
A beautiful impression of this swamp with the white trees well placed on either side of the calm water, which also adds some nice reflections. The subdued sunlight helped to create a wonderful mood as well.

Hi Ike
Several varieties of Eucalypts are used in Australia to dry out boggy, swampy areas but this is unusual seeing them growing in such a wetland. I tried to work out what variety it is without success.
A good photo of the wetland forest and I'm sure that mosquitoes love it too.
cheers

Well Ike,
this is orient, no such capture would be possible in Central Europe. Impression is somehow mystical.

Hello Ike,
This swampy picture looks very extraterrestrial , I haven't seen Eucalyptus trees growing abundantly in a winter-pond marsh. Now, I have.
You've found a perfect spot for this picture , exactly what you've described.
The stillness in the air......only can be broken by the sound of 'wildlife'. That's why - it's a natural reserve Park.
The only thing worry me, is the stagnant water. As Ian said, mosquitoes love this kind of place. Are there any small fishes in the water?
Thanks for sharing this extraordinary swamp.
Have a nice weekend.

Hello Ike,
Lovely sight. However, eucalyptus trees are used to dry marshes. Do they really want to eliminate this nature's wonder in the middle of an arid land?
Regards,
MT
