Photographer's Note

An old and rusty crane in the old port of Tel Aviv.
The history of this port is very short. It was built in the 30's of the 20th century, before the indepndence of Israel. They couldn't use the old port of Jaffa because it was too small for ships, and the port of Haifa was too far, so they build this port on a very in-convinent shorh, in the north part of Tel Aviv. It was really a bad location, open to the sea storms. So after less than 20 years of operation, a noe large port as built in Ashdod, 30 km south from TA, and this port has been abandoned. There are many nice restaurants now and some night clubs, but the old equipment is still there. And here is the crane.
