Photographer's Note
jerusalem old city
the western..wailing..wall
a place for prayer, reading, and reflection.
there is a library under some arches at one end and the entrance to a tunnel which takes you along the foundations of the wall as built by herod...second temple
this shot i submitted a long time ago but have reworked it on comments recieved..some cloning out of the pidgeons and an attempt to create a more 'empty' and prayerful mood..whether that worked i dont know..
papers with prayers written on them are stuck into the cracks in the wall's blocks..some of which weigh 60 tonnes...there are thousands of prayers there...there is to the right an area for the women to pray...segregation still exists in rabbinic judaism.
god bless
