Fall colours, a photo from Jerusalem, Yerushalayim

Photographer's Note

Here in Israel it is the beginning of the fall season, here and there you can see the fall on the summer trees, I love the fall colours.
I tried to catch some birds but they all ran away from so I decided to take a picture of the tree that they sat on... :)
Here I used a long focal length to get this narrow DOF, I liked the colours of the background, a mix of orange green and blue.

The colors of leave corresponds with colors of background. The light is also very interesting - a part of leave is illuminated from this side, a part - from another side. I thing the light gives most of expression to this photo.

And good camera too - it may be seen in the quality.

So you got yourself a 20D? Wow, congrats :-) You put it to very good use here, Elroyie - the choice of DOF works to the very best, resulting in a soft "autumn-colored" backdrop for the crisp leaves in the foreground. The angle of light (and partial backlight) enhances the details of the leaves to the best. Very nice.

Elroyie althouhg the colors are not a match to the ones from abroad the image is really great I aagree with you that the background colors complete perfectly the composition with the brown blurred color. also the light on the leaves makes it look very vivid!

A nice and moody closeup - I like the DOF and the very fine details you show us - thanks Elroyie - hoping for some sun here soon - theres a lot of shot to be taken - before the leafs falls.

You tantalize us with your ever expanding assortment of toys Elroyie. I note you've coupled your L lense with the new Canon EOS 20D. You have no excuses left my friend. We can now expect every photo to be a masterpiece... ;-)

I'm not wild about the composition, but I'm blown away by the clarity of the image and the naturalness of colors. It feels so lifelike that I could imagine reaching out and touching the edge of that leaf to feel its texture. The autumn colors are wonderful and the well controlled depth of field keeps our attention focused on these beautiful leaves. I look forward to what you will share with us from this excellent camera and outstanding lens. Thank you.
