Photographer's Note

It was quite a surprise, on our way back from the rehabilitated natural reserve, to find a small gathering of old cars in a large parking lot in the area.

What I present here is a 1962 "Susita cube” (pronounuces Su-Si-Ta), a fiberglass body built car, made in Israel, with a 997cc Ford engine, well kept and in a driving condition. A collector’s vehicle, as the license plate indicate.
A total of 8670 “cubes” were built from 1952 till 1966, most popular car back than, among several other models manufactured until 1978 when Israel-Autocars factory was closed down.

A common joke about this car was that a camel in the Negev-desert chewed once its tasty fiberglass body…
