Photographer's Note
There is a beautiful and old mausoleum around the Neyshabur twonship in Khurasan province where the poeple goes there everydays for prayer.
The mausoleum is located in village of Ghadamgah almost 90 Km from mashad and 20-30 Km to Neyshabur, and dates back to the 11th century AH(Anno Hegirae).
In this Mausoleum there is a stone tablet that bears the impression of the soles of two feet. It is said that these impressions belong to the feet of His Holiness Imam Reza (AS) 202 AH .
The poeple who believe and love him, come here and most of them do fold and knot a piece of cloth with a hope for resolving of their difficulties.

Very interesting shot Mohammad, and one that tells a story well, together with your note.
Personally I'd have preferred it without the wall visible at the bottom of the frame, just to give you a cleaner, less cluttered image with the woman and the colourful wall. But for that you'd have needed a lower wall, or a taller woman!
Interesting work.
Cheers,
Ben

Hi Mohammad,
Great feel you have captured in this image. Though we can't see the face, the body language and the hands gestures are very humbled. It does communicates a lot of faith and hope. Excellent capture.

Hi Mohammed, interesting and yes, also touching, story in a beautiful shot! Praying for someone help to undo the knots that tie our lives! So "real"!
Nice colors, and well done contrast with her black veil!
Laura
P.S. there's a meaning in the different colors of the knots?

Hi M,
Sensible in shooting this touching concept.
May be the first in TE such a concept in image.
The faith that holds people in doing this ritual explains their life. This shot tells the world of it...
Here in India, in many Temples, such rituals still exists.
You give a new dimension to hope: COLOURS !!
All the best, dear friend.

Dear Mohammad ... this is why I am still here, not only for the nice colorful photos but also for moments like this one! So different from my urban life style. In our catholic churches (well I am not) people light candles and donate some money but for the same reason, giving someone strength, pray for good health, inner freedom, peace. Very nice work indeed. Barbara.

What a touching image Mohammad. The lady's clenched hands holding onto the cloth and her head angled looking upwards - show us her heartfelt longing and prayers.
Well captured by you, and I hope her prayers were answered,

An interesting picture of this tradition, nice to understand it too, thanks to your note. The compo with strong lines and the veiled woman tying these knots has strong visual and emotional impact. Good documentary and artistic value here!

Hi Mohammad.
La photo est simple mais très suggestive. Les mains qui font ce geste comme une prière, le voile qui cache la tête et ce grand tapis fait de morceaux d'étoffes, tout cela fait une belle photo.

Hello Mohammad.
I find this a most interesting shot. Beautiful colors and pattern created by the devotion of people. I like your angle of view, showing the woman in her prayer and the focus on her hands with the diagonal view. Great visual and emotional impact, a sensitive image, my compliments

Hello Muhammet, it has been a long time I was away , so now I can have the opportunity to carry on visiting Iran through your eyes. Beautiful exposure and somehow you managed to keep even the texture in the balck scarf.
In Turkey you can imagine we have the same rituel. Sometimes a tree neary by a holly cemetery is full of colrfull clothes, sometimes a gate. A trekearther has got a phote of the same custom in Izmir- Turkey. Considering the islamic politics going on in Turkey it would be interesting to see. Anton Lefterov (edal)s photo is in http://www.trekearth.com/viewphotos.php?l=5&p=741509.
Lots of regards,
Erdogan

Hi Mohammad,
Interesting subject. The colorful wall contrasts with her dark clothes, nice framing and focus on her 'praying' hands.
