Photographer's Note
Iran's tourist boards have focused on selling to the tourists places like Isfahan, Shiraz, Yazd, Persopolis and seemed to have neglected their amazing landscape.
I was utterly bewildered and delighted in East Azerbaijan as we drove along the highway from Kandovan to Zanjan. My first TE photo post from Iran was taken along this road. I must have driven our guide/driver to distraction (my wife as well) as I kept exclaiming in delight and surprise every new kilometre, seeing in front of me the colours and shapes of hills, valleys, gorges and plains constantly changing into incredible possibilities. At one stage the landscape seemed sprinkled with glitter and everywhere there sparkled in the sun some glasslike crystals.
I have seen pictures from other parts of the world of places for which hyperbole are used and I can only say that Iran's natural beauty is up there with the best.
If I had the money I would gladly go along the same route tomorrow and instead of trying to take a decent photo through the windscreen, against the sun, while hurtling along at 100-120kph (as I have done here), I would take the time and choose the best vantage point in order to do justice to this inspirational part of the world.

Hi Klaudio,
I just now came across your Iranian photos. Brilliant.
This one is excellent despite having to take it through the window of a moving car. Nature seems to have forgotten to add a touch of randomness here.

Trevor

Zdravo Klaudio
Indeed, this is not your first photo from Iran showing unusual landscape with shapes and colours I have never seen anywhere else.
I did a very good job for a photo taken from a fast moving vehicle. I think the road adds an interesting dimension to the composition and the car provides much welcome sense of scale.

Hello Klaudio,
Your narrative is as engaging as the photograph!
I'm filled with delight at your enthusiasm and can't wait to scrutinise the photograph!
Iran is not a place I've ever thought about visiting but its wild, uncompromising beauty must be a great attraction.
For a view from a moving vehicle, you have done well. The curve of the road makes a fine lead and the red car gives the whole a sense of scale.
The repetitions of ridges and their colours are amazing!
Thanks for sharing this,
Bev :-)

Hello Klaudio,
This indeed almost not to believe a country as Iran has almost everything of landscapes, a pity that this is very difficult for to bring a visit.
We see at right the rocks of the mountain with a wonderful relief.
An excellent composition, nice presentation too.
Very well done, TFS.
Best regards,
John

Awesome capture of this unusual formation! Nature has some of the most interesting art works. Nicely captured with good details in spite of the lighting. Well done, tfs.

Lepa fotografija i obar kvalitet. Zaista mi se sviđa. Pozdrav i prijatno veče

Salam Klaudio
This is remarkable, and great being there for the real once in a life time experience showing us this magnificent land formation from Out of the World!! never seen before. A shot benefited from presence of the vehicle giving us some indication of the size and vastness. The dof is great as are the light, sharpness, colours and shadows and this is an awe inspiring quality shot taken from moving vehicle clicked at 1/40 sec! Congrats
Kind regards

This place seems like magic, the formations are unique, with the alternate patterns. Truly if this was your first contact in Iran, you should have brought the car to halt and spent some time just looking at it. But hey, i know this feeling, you get so absorbed, you just want to let your eyes melt away breezing at 120, hoping that your forefinger finds its way to the shutter button and bang !!! get a memorable photo like this one..
bravo. very simply put.
[p.s - any other part of the world, you would to pay a hefty fine cos these roads are wired, like the ones in-between the Atlas in Ouarzazate, there were speed guns all over..]

Hello Klaudio,
I follow with interest your Iranian adventure and wait for a travelogue. Amazing landscape. Good photo from the moving car. I experienced something like this when we went on Utah, there when we thought that we saw everything, was something new. I must consider going there. Great shot.

Hi Klaudio,
Amazing repetition of the contours and spurs of the bare red rocky hillside. The curving road adds good lead in lines. Excellent colour, sharpness and saturation. The red car adds a good focal point. Well composed with the horizon well above the centre. Tfs!

Daddo, one word only – isolation. When encountering landscapes like this, one might ask himself/herself what we really hunger for in our lives and how grateful we are in general for the things we have and take for granted…Imagine having to live in place where it is not easy task to communicate with your surroundings, where your voice can’t be heard due to the distances, vacuum like atmosphere, as if traveling in deserted vast areas between points of life that remain silent and not conquered by civilization of nowadays… Good colour, perspective and simplicity. Regards, Petar.

sometimes we are inside the cars and the marvelous landscape is running outside and we have bad conditions to register its beauty. anyway you got a nice result here. very beautiful the shapes of the slopes here.
