Photographer's Note
Persepolis, the main monument of Achaemenian Period, standing on a high platform (11 m above the groun), begun by Darius & completed under the constructions of Xerxes.and Artaxerxes I had finished the Hall of a 100 Columns, cause each king had to add a palace of his own to it,although the whole is a carefully planned unit.
ceiling structures were made of wood, no wonder why Persepolis burned completely after "Alexender The Great" put it into fire ...
The Achaemenidse declined in the end of their period,so Alexender conquered Persepolis easily, gathered all the furtunes that had been "acumulating" during 200 years( so much he ordered to bring mules & camels from Susa & Babylon)and left the burning Palaces with 20,000
mules & 5,000 camels.
But the stones remained to tell their story...

This is a fine TE image in telling us a story about place as well as history. I appreciate the point of view of this image, low to show us both the scale of the doorway and the construction of both foundations and walls. Good composition Fariba and nice colors in the stone. The sky looks a bit washed out, but I imagine it was fairly warm when you took this image in the middle of the day. I see the shadows are very shallow. And thanks for the fine note.

NICE CONTRAST BETWEEN THE BLUE SKY AND THE PALE PEACH-PINK OF THE STONE RUINS, MUST HAVE WONDERED THE GRANDEUR OF THESE ANTIQUE STRUCTURES DURING THEIR GLORY DAYS...RECALLS AN ERA OF A LONG GONE CIVILIZATION...
JUST WONDERING HAD THE PICTURE WAS A BIT BIGGER ...
BEST REGARDS...
