well, here is a detail of a bas-carving (or engraving ?)
this is a motif of a "present-bringer"( sorry to invent this word 'cause it's the exact meaning in farsi), who wants to gift the baby sheep to the King to offer them good luck for the new year.
P.S.: there is such a diversity of motifs, which difer from eachother in different details ( eyes, hands,feet, curls, beard, scabbardhead-dress,knot of the fillet,...),a research made by Michel D. Roaf shows there were 3 teams of sculptors who have been making these motives. Carving(only) the head of a motif like this, lasted 3 to 6 days to days...
