Photographer's Note

Winter also comes to the islands of the Mediterranean. Often in the shape of cold nights and frequent but welcome rainfall. This is the village of Episkopi (150 inhabitants) on a December afternoon in the low sunlight while a storm is brewing in the hills.
That evening we were without electricity for four hours as a result of a very ferocious thunderstorm. And as the houses are built to stand the summer heat rather than the winter rain, the water seaped in everywhere. But the Cypriots are helpful and friendly, and you never feel lost - even when the elements do their utmost to test the poor tourist.

Resized and sharpened a bit.
